Four Critical Steps to every resume submission

Most people do not get an interview because they stop short of getting their resume to the right person, i.e. "the Hiring Manager", the person who has the greatest need to get the position filled. When submitting a resume you should ALWAYS perform four steps:

  1. Email or send the resume directly to THE hiring manager
  2. Call them and give them a heads up that your resume is on the way, even if it's a voice mail.
  3. Let them know you're going to follow up with them to talk about the position
  4. Follow up
If you do this, you will separate yourself from the stacks of resumes floating around on a desk that has no sense of urgency to fill this position.
